Otago Maths
Problem Challenge is a mathematics problem solving competition aimed primarily at children in years 7 and 8. It is organised by John Curran and John Shanks, retired members of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Otago.
Seventeen of our senior tamariki tuakana entered the competition this year.
Antonio, Stephanie, Makaio, Vanessa, Henry, Alex, Kirdan, Libby, Annabelle and Julia each received Merit Awards.
Caleb, Cooper, Kace, Roma, Jonty, Mikayla and Charlotte all received participation awards.
The problems are generally aimed at more able children, so this is a fabulous result.
