Ramarama
Ramarama is a small tree with leaves that look like blisters (or bubbles). Ramarama is a native tree of New Zealand and is believed to have medicinal properties. People have used the leaves to treat bruises.
The fruit of the tree taste a little like guava (a tropical fruit). The berries turn almost black when they are ready to eat. This tree can grow up to six meters tall. The flowers are beautiful, a sort of creamy-white pohutukawa; however it can turn a rosy pink.
Room 5 has planted the tree in St Teresa’s Sanctuary where we hope it will grow and flourish for all to enjoy. We checked with the moisture measure for the the most suitable spot. We have to look at the power lines, the space and the sun.
