Service and Leadership

Our senior children take part in many opportunities to help them to grow as young people who are able to contribute to society positively.

Children are given the opportunity to train and serve on the school road patrol, as lunch monitors, helping with the junior children, as peer mediators, as bell ringers and librarians.

Christian Service Leaders

Children can apply to take the role of Christian Service Leader. These children organise and lead school liturgies and Masses.

House Captains

Each of the four houses has two house captains, who are responsible for leading school activities and representing the school at special events.

Year 8 Leadership Certificate

In Year 8, all children are given training to be leaders. They meet community leaders and study what it means to lead positively. They lead younger children within school-wide activities and carry out investigations into leadership. Some Year 8 children go on to complete the requirements of our leadership certificate programme and are presented with their certificate on completion. This is a unique and positive way for our young leaders to build their confidence, as well as using their talents and learning from others.

St Teresa’s is a catholic school where each child is nurtured to grow as a happy, faith-filled learner who is inspired to achieve excellence.
